WV Disc Golf Point Series | |

I would like us all to work together and create a "WV" disc golf point series consisting of PDGA C-Tier tourneys where players would earn points for attendance, placement and the volunteering at course work days and tourneys. Each course in the area could host an event including neighbor courses just across the border (nearby PA/KY/OH courses especially.) All while playing disc golf and having fun!! The series would run from Spring to Fall and culminate on a different/ pre-determined course each year. Prizes/Trophies will be awarded with our combined efforts at the end of the series. The West Virginia Disc Golf Assoc. (llc) will be available to; assist local TD's in hosting the event, advertise the series on the main page of our web site, bring a disc golf store and provide player packages and payouts, bring tourney equipment and a knowledgeable staff to all events, provide store gift certificates and trophies at the point series end. We need a lot of cooperation if we are going to make this work. We can use our web site www.wvdiscgolf.net to do all of the necessary player point tracking showing up-to-date "standings" of registered players. We also need to work together on devising a player identification system, appropriate registration fee and the actual point system itself ;-) I would love your input and using the Google Group's features will help us out immensely. http://groups.google.com/group/wvdga Joshua Smith # 25139 PDGA State Coordinator (WV) _________________ "CHING!" If we can put this into effect for the 2011 disc golf season then, we could designate that the overall points winner (from WV) goes to the USDGC as part of the State Coordinator Spot. Just some food for thought. _________________ "CHING!" Posted: May-26-2010 6:27 pm |

This sounds like a great idea. I just started and don't want to travel hours to play in tourneys. I think the idea of rewarding those who help on the course days is a terrific idea. Cosmo Consulting Co 211 Third Street Belington, WV 26250 304-823-3069 304-672-5044 Posted: May-26-2010 9:53 pm |
