In case anyone hasn't noticed or heard about the changes this year for the WVO.  It's official that the WVO's going to be an all Pro event only  on the 1st & 2nd of September.  The amateurs will have the WV AM Championships as their own tourney on the 23rd & 24th of June.

I'm a bit bummed about this change, but I understand why they're doing it and hopefully it'll work out for everyone both in the Pro's and Am's this year  and from that point on.  Since the WVO has consistently maxed out on pre-registrations and has had a history of  receiving a pretty good number of players wanting to be on the waiting list, it makes sense so that nobody in the Pro's or Am's are shut out.  I'll certainly miss watching the top 4 Pro's playing in the Final 9 like I have the last two years and getting to socialize with them, but that's ok.

If other tourneys has had success having separate tourneys on different weekends, then I don't see any problem why this one would be any different.  I'm hoping that a full field of 144 players will sign up for both of them this year at least.  There will be a cap of 144 players for both events so that nobody has to put up with groups of fivesomes.  It'll be 72 players per course, I.E. up to 72 Adv players on one course while there's 72 for the rest of the divisions in Am's and 72 for the Open on one course & 72 for the rest of the Pro divisions if I'm not mistaken.

Everything that has been posted and discussed regarding the WVO/WV AM-Champs could be found at this link from PDGA Discussions below:

I'm not sure if non-PDGA members are able to view this, but I'm sure they can.

Oh....and here's the link for those interested in pre-registering for either event:
