The new site is almost done, Because these forums are hosted on a free forum site, there is no way to get the passwords changed to the new system. Therefore in the next week of so, everyone will be receiving a email to the address they have registered here with a link to login to the new site, and set your password, all forum posts and usernames are being transferred to the new site. (Sorry for this inconvenience, armbell.com will not provide me a database dump with the hashed "unreadable" passwords) The WVDGA is switching to GoDaddy, where we have 5 gigs of storage, 250 gig/month transfer, no ads, mysql databases and php, The new site is home brewed, and I hope is a nice representation for the WVDGA on the web.

The site is functional. There are a few things that aren't written yet:
  • Forum Search
  • New Post Icon - Show posts you haven't read yet.
  • Stat Tracker - Enter your scorecard and track your progress.
  • Private Messaging system.
  • Sponsor Tools
Also I am not the best writer, and thusly am not sure some of the wording on the site is correct. If you see something that needs a re-write, post it in this forum. I will change it as needed. This is a community site, and I feel the community should have a say in how it is presented.

If you have any praises/criticisms, post them here also. You aren't going to hurt my feelings. =)

Site back up. Let me know what you like what you dont, what you want to see, what you dont.

You are not going to hurt my feelings with criticism.

Some things still yet to add are:

forums:
  • read/new post indicator
  • improved timestamp
  • image upload
main:
  • themes
  • private messaging
  • see who's logged in
gallery:
  • previous,next links
  • image resizing?
admin:
  • more control over static content
More as I brainstorm, or as members request.Hope you enjoy.

Forgot to mention, the site should look good in Internet Explorer and Firefox. Because Microsoft cant follow web standards the right menu may have a slightly larger margin, in most other browsers (Firefox, Opera, Epiphany, Konquerer, Safari, etc...) the site should display as intended. I am told IE 7 (due out early 2007) will have better css support. Let me know if there are any ongoing issues for any of you Internet Explorer users.

Firefox - free
Opera - free

Added read and new post icons, working on topic listing, not on forum listing as of yet.

Not yet, there are some security issues with certain html tags, especially with a site with open registration. So I need to lock it down to only certain ones, then I can open it up to more features.

New post indicators arent working 100% correctly as of yet, you'll have to bear with me while they are refined.
