BE PART OF A NEW COMMUNITY-WIDE RECREATION OPPORTUNITY

We are in the process of developing a 9 hole disc golf course (Frisbee golf), at the Greenbrier State Forest, in the Nester’s Field/Old Field area. (This could expand to 18 holes in the future.)

Disc golf is similar to ball golf except you throw a disc, counting the number of throws from the tee until it lands in a pole-mounted chain basket.

Disc golf is a healthy outdoor activity (walking), easy for most people to play (throwing a disc) and very inexpensive to play (no green fees and either a Frisbee or specially made golf discs which cost about $8 each).

The park will install an information board, at the start of the course, which will show the names of businesses/individuals who donated money for the baskets.
And they will provide a sign at each tee, which will show the hole information and the name of the business/individual who donated money for the basket for that hole.

If you are interested in helping this course to become a reality for the Lewisburg / Fairlea / Ronceverte / White Sulphur Springs community, we need money for 7 baskets.
(Two businesses have already donated money for 2 of the 9 baskets.)

Each basket costs $300 plus: shipping ($20), wood for a tee sign post ($5), concrete for the tee sign ($4) and concrete for the basket ($4), which totals $333.00 per basket.

Checks need to be made out to’WV State Parks Foundation Inc.’, and please put ‘Greenbrier State Forest-disc golf basket’ on the memo line.

Checks to the Foundation (which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity) are tax deductible!
And with your business name or family name on the signs, you can create a legacy in this beautiful community, for all to see.

The Greenbrier State Forest course is now open!

At least the front 9 is open.  We are still raising money for the back 9.

See   http://gsfdiscgolf.yolasite.com/      for more info.

The course is posted on pdga.com and has been submitted to wvdiscgolf.net
